Between the 2nd and 7th of September, we conducted a survey of residents within the Victorian State Electorate of Benambra. The full report can be viewed here. A reminder that seat-based polling is a tool and a window into the views of respondents at the time of the survey. Seat-based polling within smaller state electorates is also prone to higher error margins. That said, the results clearly illustrate a significant decline in the Liberal Party primary and a similar willingness of other party supporters to back an Independent when given the choice – as witnessed during the federal election.
